How to create a product manually

Creating products manually lets you manage items directly inside your Vimmi Console — independent of Shopify, Fourthwall, or other integrations.

Some customers may not have direct integration with major eCommerce platforms.
Manual product creation allows them to:

  • Add products for use in shoppable videos or live streams.

  • Manually add links to product pages on external eCommerce stores.

  • Post shoppable videos using manually created products.

  • Set redirection rules for viewers — when they click a product overlay, they’re redirected to the corresponding product page on their chosen store.

Use this option if you want to add custom or campaign-specific products that don’t exist in your connected store.

What is manual product creation?

The Products section in the Vimmi Console contains your full product catalog — both items automatically synced from connected platforms and those added manually.
Accounts connected to eCommerce platforms, such as Shopify or Fourthwall, cannot manually create products — all items are synced automatically from the connected store.

  • If your account is connected to Shopify or Fourthwall, all products are synced automatically from your eCommerce platform. You can’t create or edit them manually — updates come directly from the store.

  • If you don’t have an active integration, you can manually create and manage products inside Vimmi to use them in shoppable videos or live events.

Manual product creation is helpful when you want to:

  • Add custom or campaign-specific products that aren’t listed in your online store.

  • Test shoppable video flows before connecting your Shopify or Fourthwall store.

  • Maintain full control over product details (title, price, image, description, availability).

🟣 Note: Integrated stores (Shopify, Fourthwall) always sync products automatically — manual creation is available only for standalone Vimmi users.

Step-by-step: Add a product manually

  • Open the Vimmi Console

Go to Vimmi Console → Products.

  • Click “New Product”

At the top-right corner of the Products page, click ➕ New Product.

  • Fill in product details

Complete the product form with the required information:

    • Name — the title of your product.

    • Price — the current selling price.

    • Compare at Price (optional) — the original price to show a discount.

    • Product Image — upload a clear 1:1 (square) image or thumbnail.
Using a square format ensures correct display across all widgets and shoppable overlays.

    • Status — choose whether the product is Published or Unpublished.

⚠️ These details will appear in your product catalog and when attaching products inside the Video Editor.

Sales Destinations & Redirect Rules

When you create a product manually in Vimmi, you need to tell the system where that product is sold. This is handled in the Sales Destinations section of the product form.

Setting up Sales Destinations

  • Add destination – Click Add destination and paste the URL of your product page on your e‑commerce site (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon). You can add multiple destinations if the same product is available on different platformsснимок экрана.

  • Choose primary store – The first destination you add becomes the default link used when viewers click your product in videos.

Redirect Rules

After defining one or more destinations, you can fine‑tune how traffic is directed from different video channels. The Redirect rules table lets you specify which product page to send users to based on where they’re watching, and even split traffic between multiple URLs for testing.

Column

What it does

From video destination

The platform where the viewer is coming from (e.g., Website, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook).

To product page

The URL that viewers from that platform will be redirected to. By default, it’s the primary store link you added.

Spread, %

The percentage of traffic directed to that URL. You can split this across multiple destinations to run A/B tests.

A/B URL / A/B Spread

Optional fields (visible when editing rules) for setting a second URL and its traffic share.

Click Edit rules to adjust these valuesснимок экрана. For each channel you can:

  • Keep 100 % of traffic going to the main product page (default).

  • Split traffic between two destinations—for example, send 70 % of Instagram traffic to your Shopify page and 30 % to an Amazon listing.

  • Change the product page entirely for a specific channel (e.g., direct YouTube viewers to an Amazon page while Facebook viewers go to Shopify).

Why Redirect Rules Matter

By leveraging redirect rules, you can:

  • ⚖️ Run A/B tests – Compare different store layouts or product pages to see which converts better.

  • 📈 Optimize performance – Shift traffic toward the best‑performing channel to maximize ROI.

  • 🎯 Target the right store – Send visitors to the most relevant destination based on your strategy (for example, drive U.S. traffic to Amazon and EU traffic to your Shopify store).

  • 🔧 Take control – Fine‑tune how traffic is split across your stores, all from a single place.

Setting up Sales Destinations and Redirect Rules ensures that when viewers click a product in your video, they land on the store page that makes the most sense for your business goals.

  • Click Save

Once saved, the product appears in your list with status Active.

You can edit or delete it later anytime.

  • (Optional) Attach it to videos

To make this product shoppable, open any uploaded video and link it:
