Uploading is the first step to making your content shoppable.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to upload or import videos into Vimmi Console, attach products, set timing, and prepare your videos for embedding on your website.

By the end, you’ll have a published, product-linked video ready to appear in widgets and PDPs.

Main Steps

  1. Go to Videos tab in your Vimmi Console

  2. Choose how to add — Upload or Import

  3. Choose how to add your video:

     • Upload from PC – drag or select a file from your computer.

     • Import from TikTok & Instagram – connect your accounts and pick videos to import.

  4. Wait for upload or import to complete.

  5. Edit video details, trim if needed, and click Save.

  6. (Optional) Attach products to make the video shoppable → How to make a video shoppable.

Prerequisites

Before uploading, make sure you have:

  • Access to your Vimmi Console.

  • A supported video file (MP4, MOV or WEBM) if uploading from your computer.

  • To import from socials, connect your accounts first:

Step 1 — Open the Videos page

  • Log in to the Vimmi Console.

  • Click Videos in the top navigation.

  • Click Add video (top‑right).

This opens the Add videos modal, where you can choose how to add a video.

Step 2 — Choose how to add your video

The modal offers three tabs:

Upload from PC

  • Click Upload from PC tab

  • Drag and drop a video file into the upload box or click Choose file.

  • Wait for the upload bar to complete. Only one file can be uploaded at a time.

Import from TikTok & Instagram

  • Click Import from TikTok & Instagram tabs

  • In the Import from Social tab, click Connect TikTok or Connect Instagram to link your social accounts (you’ll be prompted to authorise access).

  • After connecting, you’ll see a list of your videos by channel. Select one or more videos to import (green check marks indicate selected items). You can switch between accounts via the account name tabs.

    • Important: if you switch to another channel, your current selections are cleared—make sure to finish selecting from one channel before switching.

  • Once done, click Import X videos (bottom‑right). The videos will import into your Vimmi library. Processing may take a few minutes; after it finishes, the videos will appear in the Video Editor ready for editing.

⚠️ If your TikTok account is private or set to “Friends only,” your videos will not appear in the import list. To import, switch the account to Public or enable visibility for your videos.

Step 3 — Attach products (optional)

  • Open the video editor → Products tab.

  • Click Add product, search your catalog, and select the matching product.

  • (Optional) Add additional related products (e.g., accessories) for overlays.

Tip: You can attach multiple products to a single video.

Set when the product appears

  • For each product row, set Start and End to match on‑screen moments.

  • Avoid overlaps unless intentional (e.g., bundle moments).

Good practice: Make the window match the exact moments the product is visible or mentioned.

Mark the primary product as Featured

  • In the product list, toggle Featured = ON for the main product.

  • Ensure only one item is Featured per video.

Set/update the poster thumbnail

  • In Poster, choose a frame or upload a custom image (improves CTR).

Trim the clip (optional)

  • Switch to the Trim tab.

  • Drag the handles to set the overall start/end of the video segment.

Note: Trimming changes the playable range; product timing should sit within this range.

Fill in Video Properties & SEO (optional but helpful)

Before grabbing the code, configure the video’s metadata for better organization and search visibility.

  • Name — internal title (helps manage multiple videos).

  • Description — optional text for context.

  • SEO Title / Meta Description / Keywords — helps search engines index your hosted video page.

  • Page URL — auto‑generated; adjust if needed for clean URLs.

  • Additional — toggle to disallow indexing if you don’t want this page discoverable.

→ See SEO properties explained for a full breakdown.

Step 4 — Save & manage

  1. Click Save (top right).

  2. Your video now appears in Videos → Videos.

  3. From here you can:

Troubleshooting

  • Upload stuck or failed → Check internet connection; use MP4 (H.264).

  • Unsupported format → Convert to MP4/MOV.

  • Imported video missing → Sync your catalog

  • Overlays not showing → Make sure the connected account is public and permissions granted.

  • Video not appearing → Ensure one product is marked Featured. Refresh the page or clear your cache; wait a few minutes for processing.

Best practices

  • Hook viewers in the first 3 seconds.

  • Use high-quality posters.

  • Test playback on both mobile & desktop.

  • Plan your content with Product Playlists in mind
