In this article

Create and run a real-time, multistream shopping show. You’ll set basic details (title, posters, privacy), prep your Live Studio (camera/mic, products, destinations, chat & moderation), then go live simultaneously to your storefront and connected social channels.

Main Steps

  1. Open Live → Go Live

  2. Start Event (choose Landscape or Portrait)

  3. Fill Live details and Enter Studio

  4. Prepare in Live Studio (sources, products, destinations, chat & settings)

  5. End the event (recording saved if enabled)

Open Go Live

  • In the top nav, go to Live and click Go Live.

  • If you need a future time, use Schedule Live instead

Fill Live details

A modal opens with everything you need to create the event.

  • Posters (optional): Upload Horizontal and Vertical posters to customize how your event looks. If you don’t upload your own, you can still go Live.

  • Title (required): This appears to viewers and in analytics.

  • Record and save your live event (if available): Turn this ON to save the recording and publish it on your storefront after the show.
This option is available only on selected plans — you can still go Live without recording.

  • Protect the event with a password (optional): Turn on to host a Private Event for invited guests only.

⚠️ Private Events are meant to host on your storefront embed. Do not post a Private Event to social platforms.

Start the event

When you’re ready, click Enter Studio. Choose your Stream Mode:

  • Landscape mode (great for desktop webcams)

  • Portrait mode (best for vertical shows and phones/external portrait cams)

Click “Start Stream” to create the event and move into preparation.

⚠️ Important: The Stream Mode can’t be changed after entering the Studio.
If you need a different orientation, go back and create a new event before starting.

Prepare in Live Studio (Preparation mode)

You’re now in the studio where you configure everything before going live.

1. Camera and Microphone Access Required

To start a Live Stream, you must allow browser access to your camera and microphone.

When the browser asks for permissions, click “Allow while visiting the site” or “Allow this time.”

If you deny access, your live session will not start — the system won’t detect your devices, and you won’t be able to go live.

2. Manage sources (left panel)

  • Microphone: Pick the correct input and verify levels in Manage sources (virtual devices like OBS/BlackHole are supported).

  • Add your webcam or external camera by clicking the Camera icon.

You can connect multiple cameras at once — for example, a laptop webcam and a USB camera — and switch between them during your live stream for different angles.

Tip: Use the dropdown menu to select which camera is active before going live.

  • Screen Share: Share your screen if you plan to do demos or slides.

  • Co-Hosts: Invite a guest presenter (available on selected plans).

Scenes (center panel)

Scenes let you organize and control what viewers see during your Live show. You can create up to 10 different scenes and switch between them instantly while streaming.

Each scene can include any combination of sources — cameras, screen share, or co-hosts — arranged in different layouts.
This allows you to switch from one camera angle to another, show your screen, or create a split view with multiple participants.

How to manage scenes:

  • Click the Scene Tab to add a new scene.

  • Click a scene thumbnail to switch to it.

  • Open the ⋮ (three dots) menu on a scene to Edit or Remove it.

  • Use Edit to replace or rearrange sources (for example, change the camera or layout).

  • Use Remove to delete a scene you no longer need.

Available layouts:

  • Single view — one full-screen camera or screen.

  • Split view — two equal sources side by side. (Just for Landscape mode)

  • Picture-in-picture — one main view and a smaller floating one.

Tip: Prepare your scenes before going Live for smoother transitions.
For example:

  • Scene 1 — Main camera view

  • Scene 2 — Screen share

  • Scene 3 — Co-host

Products panel (right side)

This section controls which products are visible to viewers during your live show.

  • When you add products, they appear greyed out (inactive) — this means they are not currently visible to viewers.

  • To show a product, click on it — the tile turns green, and the product appears on the player in real time.

  • To hide the product, click on it again — it returns to grey (hidden).

  • You can only show one product at a time. When you select a new one, the previously active product automatically hides.

Use this feature to highlight products one by one while streaming — for example, when introducing items or switching between them.

Destinations (right panel)

Toggle where this event will stream:

  • Video Mall embeds

    • Enable this option to stream directly inside your Video Mall widget on your website.

  • Connected social accounts

If a destination needs attention, you’ll see Reconnect. Manage connections in Settings → Social Accounts:

Chat, moderation & pinned message

The Chat panel displays all viewer messages sent through Vimmi player, YouTube, and Twitch during your live event.
You can read, reply, and manage messages in real time.

  • Click the shield icon to invite Moderators by email.

  • Delete messages: Hover over any chat message → click the ⋮ (three dots) menu → select Delete message to remove it from the chat.

  • Pin messages: Highlight an announcement or promo code at the top of chat for better visibility.

  • Messages sync automatically from all connected destinations — there’s no need to switch tabs.

Tip: Keep the chat open during the stream to monitor engagement and moderate conversations across all platforms.

Viewer UI & sync settings (top bar → gear icon)

This menu controls what viewers see on the player.
You can toggle each element before or during the stream — changes apply instantly for everyone watching.

Available display options:

  • Chat – show or hide the live chat window.

  • Viewers – display or hide the current viewer count.

  • Reactions – allow or hide viewer reactions (likes, hearts, etc.).

  • Event name – show or hide the event title on screen.

  • Show products – display or hide the product bar during the live event.

These controls let you keep your layout clean — for example, you can hide chat or viewer count during product demos and turn them back on later.

Preview before going live

Use the eye icon to open a viewer preview and check your layout, sound, and products: Preview a live event.

Pro tips: Aim for 20+ Mbps upload, close heavy apps, and set up your scenes/layouts ahead of time for smooth switching: Preparing for a live event.

End & publish

Click Stop Event to end the show.

If recording was enabled, your replay will be saved automatically and appears in your video list
