Video Playlist is used as a video source to be displayed in Vimmi widgets — such as Video Carousel widget, Video Mall widget.
It lets you group multiple videos, showcase multiple products, or organize thematic content.
This guide walks you through each step — from creating a playlist to adding it into widgets across your site.
Main Steps
Open Playlists tab in the Videos section of your Vimmi Console
Click Create Playlist
Add videos from your library
Edit details, posters, and order
Save and use the playlist inside widgets
You can use playlists to:
Organize videos around one product, theme, or campaign.
Keep viewers engaged with continuous playback instead of a single clip.
Highlight related or complementary products (cross-sell opportunities).
Reuse the same video set across multiple widgets to save time and maintain consistency.
Preconditions
Make sure you have:
Videos already uploaded → How to Upload a New Video
(Optional) Imported clips from social media → How to Import Videos from Instagram, TikTok
Your Videos are Shoppable → How to Make a Video Shoppable
Open Playlists
Log in to Vimmi Console.
Open Videos Tab in the top navigation.
Click the Playlists tab (next to Videos).
Looking for auto-generated collections tied to products? Go to Product Playlists → How Product Playlists work in Vimmi.
Click Create playlist → new playlist editor opens.
In the playlist editor, click Add (the + tile).
In Select videos or playlist, choose one or more items from your library and click Add
After adding, you’ll see all selected videos displayed as tiles in the playlist editor — each tile represents one video.
Need more content first? Add it in Videos Tab → Add video → How to upload a new video to Vimmi
Set playlist details and Videos order inside the playlist
Name — give the playlist a clear internal name.
Poster — poster will be generated automatically. You can change it any time
Reorder videos — drag video tiles to adjust the playback order inside your playlist.
The order you set here determines how videos appear in widgets (e.g., the first one shows first in the Carousel or plays first in continuous mode).Remove video via ⋮ → Remove from playlist, then Save.
Use your playlist in widgets
With your playlist ready, you can place it into Vimmi players/widgets and publish it to your site.

Playlists vs Product Playlists
Product Playlist Overview
A Product Playlist in Vimmi is automatically created when you attach one or more videos to a product.
Unlike manual playlists, Product Playlists are system-generated and always stay in sync with product updates.
You don’t need to create them manually — they appear automatically under the Product Playlists tab once at least one video is linked to a product.
Type | Created | Purpose | Notes |
Playlists | Manually (by user) | Organize videos by theme, campaign, product group, or storytelling sequence | Reusable across widgets (e.g. Carousel, Mall) |
Product Playlists | Automatically — created when videos are linked to a product | Display product-related videos automatically | One per product; updates automatically and is used in PDP widgets Reusable across widgets (e.g. Carousel, Mall) |

Troubleshooting
Can’t find videos to add — Make sure the video exists in Videos → Videos. If not, upload a new video or import from Social first. Clear any filters and wait for processing to complete.
Playlist doesn’t appear in the widget — Click Save on the playlist, then reopen the widget settings (or refresh the page). Confirm Source = Playlist and that you’re in the correct workspace.
Order not updating — Drag tiles to reorder (where supported) and click Save on the playlist. Then re-open the widget and Save/Publish to push changes live.
Poster won’t upload — Try a smaller .png or .jpg (e.g., ≤2 MB), then Save. If it still fails, check your connection and try again.
Best practices
Keep playlists focused (5–10 videos).
Use a strong Poster and descriptive Name.
Group by theme (campaign, product family, tutorial series).
Prune outdated videos regularly.
Reuse the same playlist in both Video Carousel Widget and Video Mall Widget to maximize efficiency.
